Dr Karen Rowe
Research interests
Ecology and conservation, ecoacoustics
Research in my lab covers a range of projects and taxonomic groups (primarily birds) and relies heavily on museum collections, field notes, biodiversity surveys, and fieldwork. Current topics include the use of bioacoustics to improve our understanding of species' distribution dynamics, threatened species detection and monitoring, and ecoacoustics and ecological disturbance (e.g., fire)
Research projects
- Acoustic survey methods for threatened species
- Documenting fire impacts with ecoacoustics
