Research interests
Marine ecology and environmental science
My research group works in to main areas: (1) the ecology of temperate and tropical reefs, with an emphasis on fish early life history and (2) understanding and mitigating the impacts of environmental change in aquatic, coastal and marine ecosystems
- Fish and fisheries ecology
- Ecological engineering and habitat restoration
- Climate adaptation and mitigation
- Aquaculture
- Ecotoxicology
Research projects
- Shellfish reef restoration – informing future restoration efforts and assessing ecosystem services (with Dr Simon Reeves and Mr Simon Branigan, The Nature Conservancy)
- Impacts of nocturnal illumination on reproduction in fishes (with Dr Emily Fobert and Dr John Morrongiello)
