Prof. Michael Kearney

Research interests

Physiological ecology, climate change responses, metabolic ecology, insect conservation, grasshopper biology

We combine field, lab and modelling work to understand what limits where species can and can't live, how they use their habitats, how they are adapted to their environments, and how we can use this information to manage species for conservation, agriculture and health

  • Climatic constraints and adaptation
  • Niche and distribution modelling
  • Life history
  • Biophysical ecology
  • Ecophysiology
  • Metabolic theory
  • Biogeography
