Research interests

Development, reproduction, genomics, genetic biocontrol and synthetic biology

Research in my group covers two broad themes: synthetic biology, with ecologically therapeutic applications;and evolution, development, reproduction and genomics of vertebrates, especially marsupials

  • Synthetic biology
  • Genetic biocontrol (gene drive)
  • Marsupial stem cells and germ cells
  • Evolution of reproduction and development in vertebrates
  • Genomics

Research projects

  • Developing genetic biocontrol technology for eliminating invasive vertebrate populations
  • Conferring resistance to cane toad toxin in the northern quoll by gene editing
