Soil microbes and rhizosphere interactions

My research looks at the influence of changed rainfall patterns on microbial interactions in the rhizosphere. I'm also interested in changes in soil microbial communities in response to disturbance or elevation in natural and urban ecosystems.

  • Rhizosphere
  • Soil microbial ecology
  • mycorrhizal fungi
  • Plant-soil interactions
  • soil bacterial communities

Research projects

  • Investigating the influence of disturbance (playground, low use areas and under lamp-posts) on soil microbial communities in urban parks, with Dr Amy Hahs
