Undergraduate study in BioSciences
Discover how you can study biological science: through a major or elective in the Bachelor of Science, or one of our many breadth pathways.
Majors in the Bachelor of Science
With over 40 majors to choose from, the Bachelor of Science is one of the broadest undergraduate degrees around. We offer the following majors:
Bachelor of Science (Degree with Honours)
Honours is a one-year program following your Bachelor of Science, combining coursework and research. This is a rewarding way to develop your skills in research and pursue further studies in research higher degrees such as a PhD.

Breadth and Elective subjects
Studying another undergraduate degree but want to explore biological science? Tailor your study by completing an individual breadth subject, for follow a breadth track (complete a sequence of three or more subjects):
- Australian Flora
- Australian Wildlife
- Cell and Developmental Biology
- Ecology
- Ecology, Evolution and Humanity
- General Genetics
- Genetics and Society
- Human Genetics
Alternatively, you can take a biological science subject as an elective to complement another Bachelor of Science major and broaden your studies. For example, you can major in Mathematics and Statistics while completing electives in genetics.
