Distribution (from Flora of Victoria): Vic, All regions except MMAL, LMAL, OTPL, GHL - also WA, SA, Qld, NSW, Tas, New Zealand.

Widespread in cooler parts of the state, occurring mainly in perennial or seasonal swamps and slow moving rivers in the lowlands, and in seepage areas or on bare gravelly or rocky ground in the alps.
